Connecting people

There are active and resilient relationships between communities, groups and individuals who live and/or work inside the North Pennines, and those outside of the North Pennines.

This outcome reflects a desire to see engagement between groups who currently find it difficult to access places like the North Pennines and land managers and others who can provide a good experience of the natural and cultural heritage which the North Pennines has to offer.

This work requires co-creation with hosts (farmers and other land managers), support (in terms of funding and practical help and advice), and should build on the good work which is already taking place.

It recognises the difficulty of this work with time-poor land managers, and groups who have an existing difficulty in engaging, particularly the work of building a learning network of all these stakeholders.

Its aim is to support long-term relationships which lead to ongoing fruitful engagement with less external support required.
