Key research interests include, but are not limited to:
- Effects on water temperature, invertebrate assemblages, and fish, of riparian shade in different sections of upland catchments (see also Outcome NR3).
- Upland watercourses which are disconnected from their catchment. How to identify them and techniques to reconnect them.
- Landscape suitability, benefits and costs (and compensation schemes) associated with beaver re-introduction (see also Outcome NR8).
- Live monitoring of chemical and biological contaminants in watercourses.
