Outcome AE4 Young people

Develop and promote education programmes and sessions for schools (within and from outside the North Pennines) about the nature and heritage of the North Pennines.

Ensure funding programmes include the resources to reduce barriers such as travel costs for schools

Develop resources for educators (e.g. on website for self/teacher-led activities.)

Establish high-quality education activities in or about the North Pennines through local providers (e.g. farmers, partner organisations such as Rivers Trusts, Wildlife Trusts).

Create and promote age-appropriate material about nature and heritage in the North Pennines for young people and children

Provide training to youth activity providers such as outdoor activity centre staff and afterschool club supervisors and youth group leaders, to enable them to incorporate nature and heritage in their work.

Create and promote activity resources available for use by youth activity providers such as outdoor activity centres, afterschool clubs and youth groups.

Develop events and resources which enable families to connect with nature and heritage in the North Pennines and make strong memories. This may include targeting specific groups such as geographical areas, particular communities or home educators.

Develop longer-term opportunities to connect with nature and heritage for interested young people.
